About Us

Our Story

Crider Farms is located in Central Illinois between Bloomington-Normal and Champaign-Urbana. Farming has been a way of life for the Crider Family for the last 75-plus years. The farm consists of sheep, cattle, and your traditional corn and soybean row crops. Feeding people is at the heart of what we do on the farm.

The farm operation is a family affair. Dan and Anne farm together with their two sons, Jason and Chris. The sons’ wives, Lauren and Erin, also play an active role in the operation. We would also be amiss to not mention that Dan and Anne’s daughter, Rachel, and husband Kyle contribute to the farm as well.

The corn and soybean farm has been the primary part of the farm since the beginning. The grain side raises non-GMO food-grade corn for Frito Lay and other food processers. In addition to the corn, the farm also has produced corn and soybeans for seed production. The grain and livestock complement one another well. Reach out to Dan if you would like to inquire about farming with us or like to have something custom farmed.

The cattle side of the farm started as a 4H project for Jason, who turned it into something more. Today, Jason, Chris, and Dan raise registered Angus cattle. The cattle are primarily sold off the farm to other breeders or for meat for our neighbors and family. Put attention to Jason if you want to inquire more about the cattle side of our farm.

Just like the cattle part of the farm, raising sheep started as a 4H and FFA project for Chris. The project has now become a business and Chris’ wife Erin participates in multiple farmers markets and promotes our brand online. We raise Polypay ewes and cross them with Dorper and Dorset rams. We also raise Fullblood Dorpers for our boys' show sheep. Reach out to Chris or Erin, or look at our store for your lamb needs. Thanks for visiting our website, and we hope to connect with you soon.
